Witch of the Old God

The Second Tyvola Letter

The brief glimpses of the outside I get between sessions with Simone fill me with more dread than what Simone will do to me.  The world outside has turned Dark.  The sun is an ebony disk in the sky, ever burning, never setting.  The grass is black and shiny as it sparkles like iron.  The very air here is toxic.  There's a cynical beauty of it all.  With Simone invading me in every possible way, I can take comfort that the world is just as dark as my mind.

Simone has used me again.  My body stings with the pain of her, but it's my heart that hurts the most.  This woman used to love me.  We used to have a beautiful relationship.  Now all we have is a cycle of abuse and I have a damaged sex.  I know that she's still in there somewhere.  I see it in her eyes sometimes, at least I hope I do.  SHe may be keeping me as her prisoner, but she has to be at least a part of the woman I once loved.

I hope you find me soon, Heroes.  I'll be ok for a while, but I can feel the effect of this place on my mind.

Not a Damsel in Distress,
Tyvola Blue

The First Tyvola Letter

I've been locked in this place for days now.  I'm trapped at Simone's mercy.  I don't know where I am, but the air itself is toxic.  Simone is completely mad, using a geas to control me.  I'm sorry, friends.  She forced me to divulge all of the information that I had.  The worst part is what she's forced me to do.  I've been pulled into her bedchamber more times than I care to remember, and have been forced to do things to her that I swore I would never do again.  A large part of me wants to cut my tongue out of my face…

It doesn't help that the air is toxic, and the entire world seems cold and dead.  I'm currently looking for a way to escape, but This castle dampens my magic, so I haven't been able to find my way out.  I'm counting on you, heroes, and I hope this letter finds you.

Forest Temple, Tyvola's Notes

This temple is massive.  I can't believe that the greens made this place.  We finally got a moment to ourselves now that we're sealed in this little worship chamber.  I think the White wizard we've been traveling with is getting a bit nervous, especially when those spiders showed up.  Our Dwarf had a good time driving out the impurity in that chamber.  He's a green knight, so I think he's doing his best to save this nature temple.  The group is resting now, so i'm going to put this notebook away and get some sleep.

I'm glad that Eleamous is ok.  He showed up to lead us into the inner sanctum of Lydia where the last of Maladus' impurities remained, and Simone was there, doing Magic that I haven't ever seen before.  She condensed all of the taint into a gem she called a "soul shard"  and then shoved it into Eleamous.  We were able to knock him out and pull it away, but Simone escaped again.  Lydia showed up and bestowed her symbol upon one of our people.  She called it a Forest Medallion, and it gave our girl some strange powers.  Lydia healed us up and made a portal for us.  I headed through and am sitting here waiting for the others to come through.

Great forest, Tyvola's notes

Simone Blanche, That's a name I hoped I would never hear again.

To recap, I am Tyvola, a blue wizard traveling through the forest plane of Everwild with my band of misfits trying to save the gorram multiverse, and things just got a whole lot more complicated. While I was a student at the Northern Blue Wizard Academy, I met a woman named Simone.  Simone was something special, you could see it when you looked at her.  She was an excellent student too.  She was studying the geometry of Frozen spells in the library when I wandered up to her.  We became fast friends, and from there things get a little too intimate for this notebook.  Anyway, Simone and I were together for a few years when she started to turn away from the blue school of evocation, instead swearing loyalty to a school of magic I had never heard of.  She imbued some of the spells into my brain to show me how amazing they were before the headmistress threw her out of the academy.  I would sneak away to see her on occasion, but she seemed strange.  I eventually decided that our relationship wasn't going to work like I thought, so I snuck away to see her one last time.  She was not pleased with this news and bound me for three days before I was able to free myself and escape.  I hadn't seen Simone since.

Until yesterday when she attacked my friends.  We were in Merida when someone saw her on a roof.  She disappeared and I told the group about how dangerous she is.  Then we made it to the Forest Temple where she attacked us.  Some of us are still injured from the fight, but there's still evil in the temple so we can't rest yet.

The Adventure Begins, Tyvola's notes

It was supposed to be easy.  I was supposed to head to the Green wizard and druid monastery and consult the archmage about my nightmares.  It was all going so well until that girl, i think her name is Eryn, came up behind me.  I mean, Just because I mention the Forest Temple doesn't mean we're all going on a grand adventure.  It's nice to have the muscle though, and she knows the Great Forest of Nohr like the back of her hand.  I wouldn't have a problem bringing her along if it weren't for the fact that she's so itchy with her blade.  It seems like every time Gaius makes a joke or says anything Eryn doesn't like she's super quick to draw her blade.
Gaius is his own matter entirely.  I'm not sure why he's coming with us, but he decided to tag along.  He does well enough on his own, and he can hold his own in a fight too.  We have another woman traveling with us now too.  I don't remember her name because she doesn't talk very much at all.  She's supposed to be this grand manipulator or something, but I'm not impressed.

We made it to the monastery, and the green archmage told me about the end of creation because of trouble in the elemental temples.  I'm not too sure on the idea of going across multiple planes of existence and all, but if the world is in trouble I'm going to help save it.  I live here after all.

I'm actually writing from Everwild, a mystical forest situated in another realm entirely.  The archmage sent us here through a weird mirror.  I'm not sure how that works, but we're here.  There's supposed to be a temple at the other side of these woods, but so far all the group has done is squabbled.  We managed to make it through part of the forest, but we've been travelling for two days and this forest seems without end.  I hope we get to the Forest Temple soon, otherwise Gaius may kill Eryn.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
